Hotels, Guest accommodation, Self Catering & Camping in Hebden Bridge
Hebden Bridge is a quirky market and former mill town in the Upper Calder Valley of West Yorkshire. It is set in a heavily wooded and steep-sided valley, with Hebden Water running through it, crossed by a packhorse bridge that gives the town its name. It also lies on the Rochdale Canal which has a flat towpath for scenic walks. Socially, it is home to a diverse population and has an excellent selection of independent shops, cafés and tea rooms, as well as about 20 pubs, micro pubs and restaurants. Its thriving food and general market, held each Thursday, sells everything from fresh fish, local cheese and sourdough bread to toiletries, plants and fruit and vegetables. There is also a flea market each Friday, artisan’s market on Saturday and a local produce market on Sunday. Hebden Bridge Picture House is a Grade II listed independent cinema showing mainstream movies, arthouse, foreign language films and more. The cinema sells local Yorkshire ice cream and serves tea in proper mugs! Regarded as one of the best independent music venues in the country, The Trades Club, built in 1924, hosts exciting indie, rock and folk artists. The town lies on the Calderdale Way and is also close to the Pennine Way and Hardcastle Crags, so ideal as a base for outdoors pursuits.
