Beverley is the beautiful county town of the East Riding of Yorkshire. It has it all; an awe-inspiring Minster church, historical buildings, cobbled streets, great shops, a racecourse and a busy town schedule. Market days are central to the town; held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are many high street names, plenty of smaller independent shops, and an antique arcade. The town centre and surrounding streets have plenty of cafes, cosy coffee shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. The Georgian Quarter has architecturally-fascinating streets, divided by the 15th Century North Bar, and contains a great number of listed buildings. Flemingate, East Yorkshires newest retail and leisure destination, is home to high street retailers and a 6-screen cinema.
Throughout the year, there are annual music festivals; Early Music in May, Folk in June, Jazz in August and the Chamber Music Festival in September. Beverley hosts an annual Literature Festival, Kite Festival, a biennial Puppet Festival and town fayre. There is also a Craft Beer and Cider festival in September and very popular annual Food Festival in October.
