Stourport-on-Severn, often shortened to Stourport, is a Georgian town in the Wyre Forest District of North Worcestershire, a few miles to the south of Kidderminster. The town has a fascinating history, dating back to when the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal was completed in 1771 and water continues to play a key role in its daily life. The restored and unique historic Canal Basins is home to over 100 boats and provides a tranquil and picturesque scene, a heritage exhibition and Stourport Canal Basins Discovery Trail. Riverside Meadows offers a beautiful spot by the river with plenty of open green space with boats for hire, river cruises, a play area, crazy golf, putting green, go karts, paddling pool and skate park, plus Treasure Island Amusement Centre with fairground rides and an arcade. The Meadows is also the location for several large events throughout the year. Stourport also offers plenty of shopping opportunities and an extensive choice of places to eat and drink.
