Rugeley is a historic market town in Staffordshire, on the north-eastern edge of Cannock Chase, next to the River Trent. It is situated between the towns of Stafford, Cannock, Lichfield and Uttoxeter. Rugeley's town centre has an outdoor market 3 days per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. It also has an indoor market and a shopping centre called the Brewery Street Arcade. Rugeley has many well-known high street names for shopping and benefits from a swimming pool, leisure centre and skate park. The town benefits from its proximity to Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its many attractions, and there is a heritage trail linking the town to Hednesford and Cannock. The trail contains numerous notice boards highlighting the town's history. Rugeley Fair occurs during the first weekend in June, which is a huge attraction with a street parade.
