Eccleshall is a small country town set in the depths of the Staffordshire countryside in the Sow Valley, 7 miles north-west of Stafford and 6 miles west of Stone. Eccleshall is a historical town with many interesting old buildings, including the Holy Trinity Church dating back to the 11th century. Eccleshall High Street has many Georgian and earlier buildings and is a conservation area. The town has been a regular winner in the Britain in Bloom competition and in summer, the main parts of Eccleshall are filled with colourful floral baskets. With restaurants, public houses and a wide assortment of shops, as well as a farmer’s market every month, Eccleshall is a delight. The town holds its major festival every 2 years and the Eccleshall Show is held every summer at Sugnall. For walkers, there are over 130 public footpaths covering Eccleshall and the surrounding area.
