Rhossili is a scenic village on the south-western tip of the Gower Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, about 15 miles from Swansea. The village has good facilities including a café, visitor centre / shop, surf shop and a pub with outdoor seating and beautiful views over the bay. Rhossili has a long golden beach, ideal for water sports and is also dog-friendly all-year-round. At the southern end is Worm’s Head, the most photographed feature on the Gower. This promontory is accessible at low tide, when several shipwrecks are also visible, including the Vennerne and Helvetia, which were both wrecked in the 1800s. Behind the beach is Rhossili Down, which at 632 feet, is the highest point on the Gower and a popular venue with hang-gliders and for sightseeing. This is a place of stunning beauty with abundant wildlife and places of archaeological and historical interest such as prehistoric stone circles, cairns and burial chambers, including seven Scheduled Monuments.
