Moelfre is a village on the north-east coast of the Isle of Anglesey. The village wraps around a small harbour, sheltered from the north by a headland and the rocky island of Ynys Moelfre, which is home to many seabirds and seals. The harbour was formerly a local fishing port and there is a lifeboat station, which is open to the public. Nearby is the RNLI Gwylfan Moelfre Seawatch Centre which has a small museum, shop and book store. In the village, there are also independent shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and a fish and chip shop. The coastline includes a large sandy beach at Lligwy Bay, just north of the village, which is popular with water sports enthusiasts. It is traversed by the Anglesey Coastal Path for walkers. For those interested in history, Moelfre has 14 Scheduled Ancient Monuments, which is more than any other settlement on Anglesey.
