Valley is a charming village near Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. Anglesey, the largest island off mainland Britain, has much to offer its guests, both on land and water with its beautiful countryside, award-winning beaches, wide range of water sports, horse riding, golf, fishing, walking both inland and on the coastal path and many more visitor attractions. The village of Valley sits to the east of the Cymyran Straits (separating Holy Island from the Island of Anglesey) and to the north of RAF Valley. It is an excellent location for an overnight stay or holiday, close to the main A55 Expressway to Holyhead and the ferries to Ireland, as well as the rest of North Wales. The village has accommodation, some shops and takeaways. Valley Wetlands reed-fringed lakes give you the opportunity to see wildfowl all year round. Look out for tufted ducks, pochards, shovelers, gadwalls and grebes which all breed here. If you come in winter, you will also see wigeons and goldeneyes. Spring and early summer are also good times to visit, when the reedbeds come alive with reed and sedge warblers. You might be lucky to catch a glimpse of other reedbed birds like water rails, marsh harriers and Cettis warblers!
