Hotels, Guest accommodation, Self Catering & Camping in Abersoch
Abersoch is a village in Gwynedd on the east-facing south coast of the Llyn Peninsula. It is a very popular seaside resort and a haven for those seeking watersports adventures such as jet and water-skiing and sailing. There are also good surfing opportunities in the area, and many pleasure boat trips available, with outings to St Tudwal and Bardsey Islands, where you might catch a glimpse of a seal or two. It is 7 miles from Pwllheli, and takes its name from the river Afon Soch which reaches the sea in the village. The village has plenty of good shops, friendly pubs and excellent restaurants serving local seafood and other Welsh produce. There is an excellent 18-hole golf course if you fancy a round.
Abersoch is a short distance to Snowdonia National Park, and on a clear day, you can see Mount Snowdon from here. Abersochs main beach is sheltered and sandy, with safe swimming and great views of the mountains of West Wales. The second beach is from the harbour going north and is a long stretch of sand almost 4 miles long. Both beaches in Abersoch are clean and safe. The harbour area is great for watching the inkling and outing boats and children adore sitting on the small harbour wall and doing some crabbing.
