Blaenau Ffestiniog is a proud historic slate mining town in North Wales, located in the county of Gwynedd. Blaenau was once the 2nd largest town in the area, and although rich in history, is also home to some very modern attractions! The town is a popular tourist destination with the heritage Ffestiniog Railway, where you can ride to Porthmadog, and the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which is also home to Bounce Below, the underground trampoline park. Near Blaenau Ffestiniog there are miles and miles of mountain landscapes with derelict quarries, rivers, various lakes and walking routes. The Antur Stiniog mountain biking courses have made Blaenau Ffestiniog well-known in the cycling world. The trails range from novice (green rank) to severe (black rank), meaning there is something for all skill levels, and there is even a mountain biking school nearby.
