Tewkesbury is a riverside town in Gloucestershire, situated where the Rivers Severn and Avon meet. It is one of the few places in the Cotswolds where you will see black and white half–timbered buildings. There are almost 400 listed buildings, and this makes it popular with visitors who also enjoy spending time on the riverbanks, visiting the heritage centre and abbey. Tewkesbury Abbey; a feature of the town’s landscape for nearly 900 years, is known for its Norman tower, 12th Century ceiling and stained glass windows. Enjoy more of Tewkesbury's history through the town's museums, walking trails and other attractions. Dine in one of the cafes, bistros or pubs, or explore the many independent shops. The rivers can be enjoyed whether by a leisurely stroll along the banks, a picnic whilst watching the wildlife, or on a relaxing boat trip. Tewkesbury has a calendar of events including the world-famous Medieval Festival, popular Food and Drink Festival and Mop Fair.
