Tormarton is a small Cotswolds village surrounded by open fields and beautiful countryside. The village grew from a farming community forming part of the Badminton Estate and has remained relatively unspoilt throughout the centuries, despite being conveniently located just a mile from junction 18 of the M4. The Cotswold Way National Trail passes through the village making Tormarton a popular base for travellers. Tormarton has a friendly pub, hotel and several B & Bs. The elegant Georgian Tormarton Court Park and Gardens, created by Lady Altringham in the 1950s, and the 12th century Church of St Mary Magdalene are well worth a visit. The preserved bodies of the 3 Bronze Age men unearthed in the village in the 1960s are currently on display in the Bristol Museum. Chipping Sodbury is the nearest town just 4 miles away and the historical city of Bath is about 12 miles to the south. The National Trust property of Dryham House is located a few miles south of the village and is a fine baroque country house situated in an ancient deer park.
