South Cerney is a village in Gloucestershire, just a few miles south of Cirencester and close to the border with Wiltshire. Nestled just outside the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this village lies within the Cotswold Water Park, an area made up of over 140 lakes. Many of these are very popular for leisure activities including fishing, stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and windsurfing. The Cotswold Water Park has also become a renowned conservation area, with several of the lakes now Sites of Scientific Interest. Large numbers of waterfowl breed and winter here. South Cerney has a range of local amenities including a Post Office, general store, fish and chip shop, an Indian restaurant / takeaway and a pharmacy. There are three pubs; The Old George, The Royal Oak and The Eliot Arms Hotel. The village is also home to South Cerney Golf Course and Driving Range. As well as the Cotswolds, the North Wessex Downs are also easily accessible from the village.
