Combe Martin is a picturesque village on the North Devon coast, situated within the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a small seaside settlement with a sheltered cove and a beautiful sandy beach, just on the north-west edge of the spectacular Exmoor National Park; a unique and spectacular landscape consisting of 267 square miles of moorland, woodland, cliffs, valleys and farmland. The village mainly consists of one single long street, which runs for two miles, and has plenty of shops, five pubs, a deli, restaurants and fish and chip shops. The Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, set in over 28 acres of spectacular, sub-tropical gardens has animals such as wallabies, free-roaming macaws, wolves and lions, but there are also models and animatronic dinosaurs, making it great for a family day out. Watermouth Castle and Exmoor Zoo are within five to ten minutes from the village. Taking advantage of our fantastic coastal location, we are perfectly located to offer idyllic beach holidays and exciting watersports, as well as amazing walks along the world famous South-West Coastal Path which runs through the village. Just to the east of Combe Martin Bay are the Hangman Hills. The Great Hangman is the highest cliff in southern Britain and is a sight to see!
There are events for residents and visitors alike throughout the year in Combe Martin. This includes The Hunting of the Earl of Rone tradition at the end of May, Strawberry Fayre, Carnival Week in August with fun and events for all the family, craft fayres, farmers market and our Halloween Parade, not to mention the Icon Classic Ski Race, Britain’s Classic and most challenging Ocean Surf Ski Race from Woolacombe to Combe Martin in July. All in all, this busy, beautiful little village is the perfect location for your holiday in Devon.
