St Lawrence is a captivating village on the south side of the Isle of Wight. It is located to the west of Ventnor. St Lawrence is situated on The Undercliff. Places of interest include St Lawrence 12th Century Church which was once rated as the smallest parish church in England. The Parish Church of St. Lawrence, built in 1876, was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, and has three pre-Raphaelite stained-glass window panels. The Peace Garden, opened by Alan Titchmarsh, is a tranquil spot to stroll around or simply sit on the bench and admire the sea view. On the hill is the village hall, used for various classes and events. There are many interesting walks around the village. The Isle of Wight Rare Breeds and Waterfowl Park has more than 30 breeds of rare farm animals, alongside exotic and unusual animals, in a 300-acre coastal setting of outstanding natural beauty.
