Brighstone is a charming village on the south-west coast of the Isle of Wight. It is the largest village in the area locally known as the Back of the Wight. Brighstone is popular with tourists for its thatched cottages made from local stone, Church and interesting shops. At the village centre, is a row of traditional cottages owned by the National Trust, which now houses Brighstone Library and Village Museum. Several large events are hosted in the village each year, including the Brighstone Show in July. Just outside the village is the Dinosaur Expeditions Centre. Brighstone is a magical place to explore the outdoors with numerous footpaths and bridleways around the village. Climb rolling chalk downland and stroll along field and streamside paths, or coastal cliffs and beaches. The largest forest on the Isle of Wight is just along The Military Road at Brighstone.
