West Linton is a charming Scottish village steeped in history, located about 17 miles south of Edinburgh, with plenty of amenities and attractions. Follow the Heritage Trail on an excellent guided walk around the village. Places of interest include the Cross Well and Clock Tower in the Main Street, as well as the excellent Linton’s Books. Towards the south end of the village is St Andrew's Parish Church, built in 1781, with its beautiful interior. West Linton Golf Club has an outstanding 18-hole, par 69 moorland course. The club, formed in 1890, was recently voted the friendliest golf course in the Scottish Borders. One of the highlights of the village calendar is The Whipman, a traditional festival founded in 1803 hosted in May / June, with a full week of events, culminating in the annual sports day held on the village green. West Linton is an ideal base for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as hillwalking, pony trekking and cycling. The nearby Pentland Hills Regional Park offers many routes and trails for people to enjoy.
