Glendevon is a village at the head of Glen Devon in central Perth and Kinross, about 15 minutes’ drive from Gleneagles and the small town of Auchterarder. It also lies 2 miles north of the Castle Hill Reservoir. Glendevon Castle was once the stronghold of the Douglas family and there is an 18th-century humpback bridge across the River Devon, close to Glendevon church. A scenic footpath over the Ochil Hills connects with Dollar in Clackmannanshire. The glen stretches south-eastwards from the source of the River Devon to the village of Yetts o' Muckhart. The main road through the glen offers breathtaking views north to the famous Gleneagles Hotel and the mountains around Loch Earn, as well as south into the heart of the glen with rolling hills rising on either side and the gentle River Devon on the valley floor. Visitors can choose from a number of walks on good paths close to the five reservoirs located in the area and the area is popular for all manner of outdoors pursuits.
