Hotels, Guest accommodation, Self Catering & Camping in Mallaig
Mallaig is the main commercial fishing port on the west coast of Scotland. The town is a fascinating and vibrant place where visitors can soak up the atmosphere of a working fishing port, but at the same time its remote location makes is a great place to relax and unwind. Mallaig is well-connected, with the local railway station the terminus of the West Highland Railway Line. It is linked to Fort William by the famous and beautiful Road to the Isles. Ferries operated by Caledonian MacBrayne and Bruce Watt Sea Cruises sail from the port to the Isle of Skye, Rum, Eigg, Muck, Canna and Inverie in Knoydart. Mallaig has restaurants, cafes, and takeaways along with a swimming pool and leisure centre. There are minimarkets, gift shops, bookshop, banks and pubs to enjoy. An art gallery sells work by local artists and there is a heritage centre next to the railway station. The Mallaig railway was used during filming of the Harry Potter films. Try the pleasant Mallaig Circuit walk which has great views over Mallaig harbour and across Loch Nevis to Knoydart.
