Barrel Inn

A warm welcome awaits travellers at The Barrel Inn located in the small hamlet of Bretton in the Peak District National Park. Offering comfortable guest rooms, delicious food and a friendly bar, the inn is situated 1300 feet above sea level, so is the highest pub in Derbyshire! Dating back to the late 16th century, this inn has been providing a restful haven to travellers and walkers throughout the centuries.

Rated with a 3-Star Gold grading from the AA and a Dinner Award, our guests can expect an enjoyable and comfortable visit. There are 5 guest rooms, all with en suite facilities, a TV, DVD player, Wifi and refreshment tray. We have doubles, twins and our ‘Barrel Room’, a family suite sleeping 4, consisting of a double bedroom and adjoining room with bunk beds.

After a day out walking or exploring, sit in the cosy bar and warm yourself by our open fire or enjoy the sunshine out in our courtyard during summer. The Barrel serves a selection of real ales, fine wines, spirits and soft drinks and you can also sample one of our superb home cooked dishes, whether you are looking for a light lunch or a hearty pub meal for tea.
