32 The Hythe

32 The Hythe is a welcoming quayside bed and breakfast in Maldon. Situated between the Church and the River Chelmer, where you can see Thames barges and sailing boats, it provides a charming setting. Recommended by Alistair Sawday, expect excellent hospitality from owners Kim and Gerry.

There are 2 beautiful guest rooms, both decorated to a high standard with riverside views. Each is equipped with en suite facilities, a double bed, sofa, bathrobes, slippers and a hospitality tray with homemade biscuits. A great start to the day is provided by our breakfast menu which includes choices of a full English, smoked kippers or smoked salmon; all freshly prepared with locally-produced or caught ingredients. We can also cater for special diets with prior notice.

Maldon is an ancient Essex market town situated on the top of a hill. It has a fascinating history with an architecturally interesting High Street filled with independent shops, pubs and places to eat. Follow the hill down towards the waterfront and take in the fresh air from the famous saltmarshes.
