Old Keepers Cottage

Old Keeper’s Cottage is a beautiful bed and breakfast surrounded by 30 acres of countryside, outside the fishing port of Bideford. Once the former Gamekeeper’s cottage for the Stucley estate, it offers a quiet and secluded setting in the Torridge Valley. Just 10 minutes’ walk from the Tarka Trail and South West Coast Path, we provide a restful stay for travellers, walkers and cyclists, with secure bike storage and plenty of car parking. Guests can enjoy a Devon Cream Tea on arrival.

Our spacious guest bedrooms all offer scenic views. River View Room has triple aspect windows, an antique king sized bed and en suite bathroom. The Blue Room, which can be arranged as a super king sized or with twin beds, has an en suite shower room. The Garden Room and The Old Nursery share a bathroom offering a whirlpool bath and shower. For families, The Blue Room can be booked with our 4-poster room with adjoining doors. Each bedroom is equipped with TV, radio, hairdryer and a beverage tray.

Guests can sit out on our garden terrace and look across to the river, relax in our comfortable TV lounge or enjoy a tune on our grand piano in the music room. In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast cooked on our Aga stove. We look forward to seeing you soon at Old Keeper’s Cottage!
