The Postgate Inn

Dating back to 1860, The Postage Inn is a traditional country inn and restaurant. Situated in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. We are located just 100 yards from the railway station of Egton that is serviced by the popular North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Our three en-suite rooms are furnished with comfortable beds and finished with quality pillows and bedding. Refreshments are supplied with a hot and cold drinks tray available in every room and of course our bar is available downstairs. A flat screen TV is also provided in every room. After a great night's sleep you have a fantastic traditional Yorkshire breakfast to look forward to that will set you up for the day! Our quality restaurant provides a wide selection of home cooked meals, our bar offers traditional cask ales, along with a choice of wines to compliment your meal. Daily specials are always available. The beer garden is a great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine and scenery.

The Postgate Inn was a regular feature in the popular TV series "Heartbeat" that was set in the North York Moors under its stage name "The Black Dog". The city of York is only an hour away and other places such as Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Pickering are only a short distance. Dogs are welcome for a small charge of just £10 per stay.
