The George Hotel

The George Hotel is a former 15th century inn offering a welcoming place to stay in the historic village of Castle Cary. With its thatched roof, beautiful beamed ceilings and stone walls, the inn is full of rustic charm and character. There are twin, double, ground floor courtyard rooms and a beautiful 4-poster room available. Each has its own en suite facilities, TV, radio, telephone, iron, seating areas and well-stocked hospitality tray. After a comfortable night’s sleep, choose from a variety of options for breakfast including a full cooked English, kedgeree or an omelette. Our Knights Restaurant and Gin Bar is open for lunch and evening meals with a superb steak and grill menu available. There is also a children’s menu.

Castle Cary is a small market town South Somerset. Its railway station is on the main Reading to Taunton line and the Heart of Wessex line. Many alight here for the Glastonbury Festival. The town has numerous listed buildings, museums and a castle. The International Motor Museum, Glastonbury Tor and the attractive scenery of Cranbourne Chase is nearby.
