The Old Granary and Shepherds Hut

Welcome to The Old Granary and Shepherd’s Hut in the picturesque hamlet of Wheatcroft near the market town of Matlock in Derbyshire. The former is a sensitively-converted former barn on a working farm, offering exceptional self-catering accommodation for up to 6 guests, with the option of hiring our Shepherd’s Hut for an extra 2 guests.

With our 5-Star Gold rating from Visit England, guests enjoy all the contemporary comforts within the beautifully preserved features of the original building. There is a spacious lounge offering views across the countryside, under floor heating, LCD TV with surround-sound and a wood burning stove; a country-style kitchen with dishwasher and large kitchen table, 2 king sized bedrooms with en suite facilities and a twin bedroom. Outside there is a Jacuzzi hydrotherapy hot tub and patio.

Our superb Shepherd’s Hut has appeared on the front of ‘Period Living Magazine’ and offers a cosy living space for 2 guests. It can only be booked in conjunction with The Old Granary Barn. Inside the hut, there is underfloor heating, oak flooring, a wood burning stove, a full sized double bed, fold down table and chairs, electric sockets and lighting.
