Brownber Hall Country House

Brownber Hall Country House, built around 1860, is a grand residence nestled in rolling countryside near the village of Newbiggin-on-Lune in Cumbria. The house enjoys panoramic views across open farmland to the Howgill Fells and North Pennines. There are walks from the front door and we are only 8 miles from the ruins of Pendragon Castle and 9 miles from the hiking trails of the Howgills. Hosts Peter, Amanda and the team offer a warm welcome to guests and many special little touches, like home-made cake! Brownber has been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Our 8 cosy and chic guest rooms feature free Wifi, flat screen TVs, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Suites add seating areas, Nespresso coffee machines, and smart TVs with Netflix, with views of the Howgills. A country-style breakfast includes homemade granola, sausages, bacon, sourdough toast and homemade marmalade. There is also an Italian restaurant, which serves freshly made pizzas made in the Neapolitan style. There is also a licensed self-service honesty bar. Guests can enjoy wonderful views while relaxing on the terrace, which extends across the front of the hall. We are dog-friendly.
