Southwaite Green

Southwaite Green offers 4 purpose-built, eco-friendly holiday cottages offering self-catering accommodation in the beautiful Vale of Lorton, 5 minutes drive from Cockermouth. Awarded a Green Tourism Gold Award by Visit England, each cottage has been designed to offer all the comforts of modern living whilst being sensitive to sustainability. As a result, all our cottages are constructed from recycled building materials and natural products. They are powered by energy from renewable sources and heated by ground heat pumps.

The cottages all have a TV, DVD, fully fitted kitchens, including dishwasher and most have 2 bedrooms. Beckside has 3 bedrooms with an upstairs viewing gallery, and Buttermere is a ground floor cottage adapted for wheelchair users or guests with mobility difficulties. When you arrive, we will provide you with a range of delicious local and fair trade produce. You can book more than one of our cottages at a time for a family or group holiday. In total, there is sleeping capacity for up to 20 people. There is car parking available and a shared laundry room.
