A warm welcome waits at Athol House, a warm and friendly guest house in the historic town of South Shields. Close to the beautiful parks and beaches and only a 5 minute walk to the town centre where you can catch the Metro to Newcastle or to the bustling Metro Centre, we also have free car parking available.

Benefitting from a recent refurbishment, all our rooms are immaculately presented. Each has Freeview TV, Wifi, fridge, hairdryer, ironing equipment, desk and hospitality tray. We have single, double and twin rooms available, with some on the ground floor. A delicious breakfast is included in our room rates.

South Shields is 11 miles east of Newcastle. The beaches of the town stretch for 6 miles and are surrounded by dramatic cliffs, home to many seabirds. Walk along the promenade and visit our traditional fun fair or follow the art trail in South Marine Park. A short distance away is Arbeia Roman Fort, part of the Hadrians Wall World Heritage Site.
