The Hope Anchor Hotel

We are a traditional privately-owned 3-Star hotel in Rye and have been welcoming guests for over 30 years, making us one of the longest owned family hotels in Rye. The hotel dates to the 18th Century, and as its name suggests, was built as a watering hole for sailors and ship builders, as Rye was still surrounded by the sea up until the late 18th century. We are situated in the heart of the Citadel alongside cobbled streets and crooked cottages with outstanding views of Romney Marsh, Camber Castle and the sea. There is parking available, for which a permit is available from reception. We are proud to have a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

The hotel has a lounge, bar, restaurant and 13 en-suite bedrooms, 2 apartments and a 200-year-old Fishermans Cottage. Our bed and breakfast rooms comprise; luxury rooms, 4-posters, deluxe doubles and small double / twin rooms. Every room has a direct dial telephone, clock radio, flat screen Digital Free view TV, hairdryer and beverage tray. Our lounge, bar, restaurant and most of our bedrooms have Wifi. Breakfast includes a Full English and we can cater for special diets.
