White Hart Hotel

The White Hart Hotel dates back to the 16th century. This former coaching inn rests in the heart of the picturesque and historic Lewes. The hotel offers modern facilities whilst keeping its rustic charm. Among its patrons over the years was the local man and revolutionary Tom Paine, who emigrated to the Americas in 1774 and who was one of the founding fathers of the United States. Wood panelling, oak beams and open fireplaces all create a welcoming atmosphere.

The 51 bedrooms are all equipped with en-suite facilities, a television, direct dial telephones, and tea and coffee making facilities. We have 21 rooms located in the historic main building with many original features, whilst rooms in the annexe have a more contemporary feel. You will find the breakfast room well laid out with cereals, fruit, yogurt and various additions, a toaster, croissants and pastries, plus a cooked breakfast.

Attached to the hotel is a health club, open free of charge to all guests and including a good-sized swimming pool, a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gymnasium.
