Situated near Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey, this magnificent Scottish Highland Country House was built for the Mackenzie family. The house was later sold to the famous Lipton family and then to Major Scott and Lady Scott Hartley, well-known for their jam-making business. Built in 1902, this elegant mansion is set in its own fabulous grounds in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. For the last 14 years, Tigh na Sgiath has been owned and family-run by Iain and Elaine MacDonald-Coulter.
There are 8 individual and beautifully-presented guest rooms; 4 Superior, 3 Classic and 1 Standard. All rooms have en-suite or private bathroom facilities. Prices include a superb full cooked Scottish breakfast. We also serve a delicious Afternoon Cream Tea including a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches and freshly-baked cakes. An evening dinner menu is available on selected evenings and we are fully licensed, with over 40 malt whiskies, local Cairngorm Brewery Beers, as well as locally distilled Gin and liqueurs available.
