The Famous Star Hotel Moffat

Dating from the 1800s is The Famous Star Hotel in Moffat. It is the narrowest hotel in the world, as stated in the Guinness Book of Records, at only 20ft wide and 162ft long. Situated in the centre of Moffat, only 2 miles from junction 15 of the M74, this is the ideal location for a short break or holiday.

With a friendly restaurant and two bars to choose from, we have the surroundings and a menu to suit all tastes. The lounge bar is the perfect spot for a relaxed bar meal or pre-meal drink before dining in our restaurant. We have over 30 malt whiskies and crafted gins to choose from, as well as local real ales available all year round. Our specialty at The Famous Star Hotel is hearty home-made dishes, especially our steak, venison and chicken pies, prepared by our long-standing chef of over 20 years.

There are family, double, twin and single rooms available on either a room only or bed and breakfast basis. All rooms have an en-suite, Freeview TV, beverage tray for making hot drinks and a hairdryer. There is complimentary Wifi available throughout the hotel.
