Rivendell provides award-winning accommodation within a Charles Rennie Mackintosh-inspired mansion dating from 1924. We are less than a mile from Dumfries town centre and its numerous shops, pubs and restaurants, but within easy access to the main A75 road and local railway station. The recipients of a 4-Star accreditation from the Scottish Tourist Board and AA, you can be assured of the highest quality of accommodation and service at Rivendell.

Each of our en-suite bedrooms is beautifully decorated and furnished to the highest of standards. The comfy king-size beds, with their high-quality linen, guarantee a peaceful sleep. In addition, a TV, tea and coffee facilities and lots of other home comforts are provided which will make your stay a perfect one. Our superior rooms are larger and equipped with four-poster beds. Several of our rooms are flexible in that we can create family rooms or additional twin rooms by adding extra beds.

Our luxury self-catering Norwegian pine log cabin, Kipplochan, has three-day weekends from Friday to Sunday available throughout the year.
