The Talbot Inn

The Talbot Inn is a traditional former coaching inn, ideally located in the beautiful Somerset village of Mells, with its wonderful architecture, walled garden, ancient streets and churchyard. The market town of Frome is just over 3 miles away. The Talbot offers great food in a classic pub environment with all the comforts of an excellent hotel. The inn has a main bar, snug, courtyard and map rooms which are all open every day for food and drink. Dogs are allowed in one of the rooms, and in the bar / public areas.

Upstairs, there are 8 bedrooms, two with adjoining rooms for children. We have travel cots available for families. There are small, medium, large and very large double rooms. All bedrooms are en-suite with a bath and shower (apart from Room 5 which has a shower en-suite), with complimentary handmade toiletries. All eight bedrooms have king or emperor-sized beds and are fitted out with Smart TVs and internet radios with iPod docking stations. You can also arrange to have a relaxing Indian head or a facial / foot reflexology massage by a qualified therapist.

The old Tythe barn now houses a sitting Room with comfortable sofas and armchairs, a selection of daily newspapers, magazines and books, and a large dining table that can seat up to 12. We also have a popular cookery school at The Talbot.
