Coleman's Cottage Fishery

Coleman’s Cottage Fishery provides an adults-only site with camping pods and touring pitches for short breaks and holidays, with on-site facilities including 5 well-stocked fishing lakes, a tackle shop and tea room. This purpose-built fishery is set in the countryside on Little Braxted Lane, only 1.5 miles from the town of Witham in Essex, on the banks of the River Blackwater, with easy access from Coleman’s Bridge on the A12 road.

Each of the camping pods accommodates 2 people in proper beds and are equipped with a kitchenette area featuring a toaster, kettle, fridge and crockery. There are en suite facilities. Bedding and towels are provided. There is Wifi, a TV and heating. Outside, there is a decking area with table and chairs. Bed and breakfast rates are available if required. There are also 5 pitches with electric hook-up for caravans and motorhomes.

Overnight guests and day visitors can enjoy fishing on the lakes which are stocked with a variety of fish. The tackle shop is open daily and Lake View Tearoom serves breakfasts and brunch. From Witham, Colchester is 15 minutes’ drive in one direction and Chelmsford is 25 minutes in the other, for days of shopping and sightseeing. Maldon and Mersea Island are also within easy reach, as is Southend, for days at the Essex coast.
