The Bear Inn

Welcome to The Bear Inn, a 15th century country pub with guest rooms situated in the village of Hartfield, near Crowborough. Nestled in the beautiful Ashdown Forest, this is a friendly place to call in for a drink, enjoy fine food and stay overnight whilst exploring this scenic area made famous by AA Milne; on foot, by bike or car.

All 4 bedrooms are furnished to a high standard and named after characters from the stories of Winnie The Pooh. Pooh is a double room with decorative fireplace; Tigger and Kanga are both double rooms with beamed ceilings, and Piglet is a dog-friendly twin room which can also be arranged as a double. A bed can be added for a child.

Bedrooms have en suite shower room facilities, a TV, free Wifi, hairdryer, desk and hospitality tray for making tea and coffee. A continental breakfast is included in room rates, with a full English available at weekends. Packed lunches can be arranged. The inn is open to all for delicious lunches (including on Sundays) and evening meals.
