Somerset Country Escape

Somerset Country Escape at Meare Court Farm provides a quiet, rural location for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday break, near the small village of Wrantage, only 15 minutes from the county town of Taunton, and with easy access to the A303 and M5 for exploring the surrounding area and beyond. The Blackdown Hills and Quantock Hills are within a short distance and the Jurassic Coast is within 45 minutes’ drive.

Our converted barns with luxurious hot tubs comprise The Old Mill sleeping 7; The Granary sleeping 5; and The Barn sleeping 6 (all Visit England 4-Star Gold rated). The 5-Star Rose Cottage sleeps 4. For larger groups, The Old Mill is often booked with The Granary, sleeping up to 12. Each cottage has original features such as exposed stone and wooden beams. There is Wifi, a lounge with TV, kitchen, dining area and parking.

Visitors can enjoy walking paths and cycle routes from the doorstep and there are plenty of local pubs in the area. Taunton is a market town with a wealth of history, great independent and high street shops, restaurants, pubs, cafés and attractions. Other things to see and do within reach of the cottages include Hestercombe Gardens, Wimbleball Lake, Forde Abbey House and Gardens, plus Cheddar Gorge and Caves.
