Hideaway Camping

A peaceful 24-acre site on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, Hideaway Camping is located at the end of a private track, in a rural area with varied landscape, just 7 miles from Okehampton. A perfect base from which to enjoy a relaxing camping or glamping holiday break, special therapies including reiki, reflexology and massage are also available to pre-book. The site can also be hired exclusively for special events, including weddings; with ample space for marquees, caterers and entertainment.

Our 4-acre camping field has 13 tent pitches, generously spaced out, with willow screening for extra privacy. Each also has a fire pit. There are compost loos at both ends of the field and the shower block is in the corner of the field next to our small camping shop with logs and essentials. There is a communal fire pit at Hideaway Henge, a play area, hidden swings in trees, the fairy glade, friendly pigs and pond. In the woods is a hammock garden, picnic area and relaxing walk alongside the stream.

Forest Glamp is a rainforest-themed former double decker bus sleeping 6, with panoramic views from the top deck sleeping area. Downstairs, is a living space with kitchen, plus a private shower and WC in the bus shelter. Excella is an 80’s American Airstream van for 5, with a living area and shower room. Rosie the Gypsy Caravan and Jabba the Shepherd’s Hut each sleep 2, and Iglulu is the Glamping Igloo for 4, each with a cooking and seating area. Little Owl Pod is a no-frills camping pod for 3 guests.
