Baystone Bank Farm Campsite

Baystone Bank Farm Campsite is located on a farm with a horse riding centre, within the scenic Whicham Valley of the south-west Lake District. This is a family-run, small and peaceful campsite based on a working farm with sheep and cows. The site hosts views across to the fells and is only a short drive from Millom and the coast. Well-behaved pets are welcome.

Choose from grass pitches alongside the stream for tents and small campervans; car-free grass pitches on the other side of the stream and in the 2 wild camping fields; electric grass pitches for tents and campervans; and fully-serviced hardstanding pitches for caravans and motorhomes. The Round House and The Wigwam pods are available to glampers. There are WCs and showers in the accessible amenities block, plus pot washing sinks, and The Big Horse Shop and Café serving refreshments, camping equipment and horse memorabilia.

The horse riding centre, Cumbrian Heavy Horses, is the world’s only BHS-approved Heavy Horse Riding Centre, with magnificent Shire Horses along with other breeds such as the Clydesdale, Ardennes and the rare Suffolk Punch. There are miles of riding routes on the private farmland and beyond, with a variety of horses available to suit all levels of experience.
