On the edge of Allerthorpe Common, only 15 minutes’ drive from historic York, Old York Forest Campsite has touring facilities for caravans, motorhomes and campervans. The site pitches are surrounded by woodland and fields and there are 3 on-site lakes. This is a perfect base for exploring the city, North Yorkshire and beyond.
This campsite is happy to be family-run and family-friendly. Visitors will find a choice of hardstanding or grass, with new 16-amp electric hook-up and serviced pitches with fresh water, electricity and waste water drainage. Seasonal pitches and a rally field are available if required. One dog per pitch is allowed to stay free of charge.
There are well-presented toilets and showers, a ball game area, dog walking track, picnic area, fishing lake and a wildlife area with a further 2 lakes. Guests will find lovely walks both around the woods and the common, with the Howardian Hills AONB also just half an hours’ drive away. Please see the website for further information.
