Penyrwrlodd Farm Cottages

Penyrwrlodd (pronounced ‘Peny-wer-lod’) Farm Cottages are 2 luxurious self-catering holiday homes in the Black Mountains, only a mile-and-a-half outside the market town of Hay-on-Wye. Situated on a working sheep farm, with spectacular views across the mountains and Wye Valley, The Meeting House and Bryn Bwthyn are internally linked together and can sleep up to 17 people altogether. Changeovers are Friday to Friday, or Friday to Monday.

Meeting House dates back to the 17th century. Sensitively-converted, this house sleeps 9 people in 4 bedrooms (x2 king size, x1 twin, x1 triple), with the main living areas on the middle floor consisting of a sitting room with a wood burning stove, TV with Sky channels and DVD player; plus a reading room and kitchen / diner with balcony. There are 4 bathrooms, including 2 with en suites. On the second floor is a games room including a billiard table.

The adjoining Bryn Bwthyn sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms. On the first floor, there are 2 living rooms; each with sofas, a TV with Sky and a DVD player. The larger living room has a wood burning stove. The kitchen is well-equipped, including a dishwasher, table and chairs. Bedrooms 1 to 4 (x1 king size, x1 double, x2 twin) and 2 bathrooms are all on the ground floor. There is an outside patio and raised woodland garden above the house.

A cot and highchair can be provided for families. Wifi is available in both properties and a welcome hamper pack is provided, with milk, tea, coffee, eggs, bread, butter and Welsh cakes. The local larger supermarkets provide deliveries. There is ample car parking and lockable storage for bicycles.
