The Friars offers a welcoming, peaceful retreat in Aylesford Priory, close to Maidstone and the Kent Downs. Dating back to the 13th century and still home to a small Carmelites Community, visitors will find comfortable guest bedrooms, tea rooms and beautiful gardens, with the chapels offering daily Mass and morning prayers.
There are over 80 bedrooms situated in the Old Block and the New Block; both featuring a shared lounge with comfortable seating, TV and refreshments for guests to help themselves to. The bedrooms vary from single, double and twin-bedded to family size, with some en suite bedrooms also available for an additional fee.
Breakfast is included and is laid out in the Pilgrim’s Hall, which is also open to all visitors for homemade lunches and refreshments. Guests can explore the grounds including a peace garden, beautiful buildings, tea rooms and a shop. Pilgrimages, conferences and groups are welcome. Please see the website for further information.
