Great House at Sonning

The Great House at Sonning is an Elizabethan former coaching inn nestled on a quiet part of the River Thames, in this charming village near Reading. Featuring elegant bedrooms, a fabulous restaurant with river views and covered terrace with cosy dining igloos, this is a wonderful place! Weddings and special events can be hosted.

All the bedrooms offer stylish, contemporary décor. Choose from a Cosy Double Room, Relaxed Room, Deluxe Room, Deluxe River View, Clock Tower Suite, Clock Tower Family Room and the Coach House Apartment. Ground floor rooms are dog-friendly. There’s a small charge for bringing pets and please let us know when booking.

Breakfast comprises tasty options such as a Garden or Skillet Breakfast, sourdough toast, buckwheat and rye pancakes, avocado and eggs, artisan pastries and more. The restaurant is open throughout the day, including dishes for children and special diets. The dining pods offer outside dining and the bar is very well-stocked.
