The Black Horse

The Blackhorse at Ireland is a traditional 17th century-era ‘freehouse’, offering guest rooms in this small hamlet near Shefford. Awarded a TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Award for the last couple of years, and listed in the Good Pub Guide, visitors will find welcoming hospitality, home cooked food and a friendly bar.

For overnight guests, there are 2 chalet-style rooms, each with their own private entrance from the courtyard. Both benefit from underfloor heating, en suite shower facilities, a king size bed, TV, DAB radio alarm clock, Wifi access, fridge and hospitality tray for making hot drinks. A continental breakfast is served in-room.

The bar offers a choice of cocktails, beers, wines and spirits. Food is served at lunchtime and in the evening, with dishes made from fresh local ingredients, including options for special diets and a children’s menu. There are regular live events held throughout the year, and special occasions are welcome.
