Machair Cottage

Machair Cottage is a beautiful croft house offering self-catering accommodation for 6 guests in the peaceful village of Scarastaveg on the west coast of the Isle of Harris. Nestled on a working croft featuring a private walkway to an extensive sandy beach, the cottage is ideal for family holidays, with accompanying pets allowed.

Providing a home-from-home, the lounge has a modern electric fire, TV and 3-piece suite, whilst the living room features a multifuel stove, leather suite and dining table seating 6. There is a fully-equipped galley kitchen including a handy washing machine. The bedrooms include 2 doubles and a twin. There is also a bathroom.

Outside, is an enclosed garden area and parking. The Isle of Harris Golf Course and the ancient monuments of Macleod’s Stone and The Temple are close by. The main settlement of Tarbert is 12 miles by road, with its distillery, shops and harbour. Owners Susan and Angus provide a warm welcome and excellent local knowledge.
