Welcome to Burnhopeside Hall, a Grade II listed country house with gardens offering bed and breakfast rooms, a self-catering apartment and cottage near the village of Lancaster, 6 miles outside Durham. Once the 19th century home of engineer William Hedley, the property is nestled within 18 acres of grounds with a walled garden, woodlands and scenic walks. Horses and dogs are welcome.

The hall is heated by a biomass boiler fired by wood chips farmed on our own land. There are super king en suite rooms with TV, Wifi, a lounge area and hospitality tray, with breakfast served either in-room or the dining room. The 2-bedroomed apartment is on the top floor, with a living area including a galley kitchen, lounge and 2 double bedrooms. Breakfast ingredients can be supplied.

There is also the self-contained Farmhouse sleeping up to 8 guests, featuring a sitting room with an open fire, dining room, well-equipped kitchen with Aga stove, 4 comfortable double bedrooms and a courtyard garden. Stabling for horses and kennels for dogs can be arranged and there is ample on-site parking and bike lock-up. Private events can also be hosted with prior arrangement.
