Dowfold House

Dowfold House is a Victorian home offering luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation in the market town of Crook. Originally built for a mine owner in the 1860s, the house has far reaching views across Weardale towards the North Pennines. Owners Jill and Rupert have been awarded a Visit England Gold Award for Green Tourism.

There are 3 elegant bedrooms. The Pink Room has a king size bed and en suite bathroom, The Red Room has a king size bed and en suite shower room, and The Green Room is a twin with en suite shower. This room can also be arranged as a super king or a triple room. All have Smart TV, Wifi access, a hairdryer and hospitality tray.

After a sound night’s sleep, guests can start the day with a superb breakfast comprising options such as a full English, full vegetarian, continental or smoked salmon, with homemade jam as an accompaniment. Special diets are happily accommodated. There is private parking; with walkers, cyclists and dogs very welcome to stay.
