Boot and Shoe Cottage

Boot and Shoe Cottage is a charming 18th century stone house on the banks of the River Tees, in the pretty village of Wycliffe, about 6 miles from Barnard Castle. Converted from a former cobblers and pub, it now provides excellent self-catering facilities for 4 guests and retains beautiful original features including beamed ceilings, fireplace and the wall cupboards.

The property features a cosy living room with wood burning stove, sofas, TV with Amazon Firestick and DVD player, plus a fully-equipped kitchen and a dining area that opens onto the garden. There is also a utility room with washer / dryer. Guests will also find a double bedroom, twin room, family bathroom and shower room. Wifi is available throughout.

The garden looks across to the river, with private fishing available, and there is a car parking area with an EV charging point, plus storage for bicycles. A hamper of specially-chosen local products and eggs laid by our own chickens will be waiting to help guests settle in on arrival. There is an all-weather tennis court available and walking on the Teesdale Way from the front door.
