The Captains House, along the banks of Loch Bay in the fishing village of Stein on the Waternish Peninsula, is steeped in history. Built in the 19th century for a Russian captain who settled on the Isle of Skye, it is now a beautifully refurbished duplex apartment for 4 holidaymakers, hosting panoramic views across the water.
Occupying the upper 2 floors, the apartment has a living room with dual-aspect windows, open fire with original tiles, 3-piece suite, TV and DVD player. The spacious kitchen includes a breakfast table and there is a dining room. The double and twin bedroom have loch views and there is a bathroom with a view and shower room.
Guests can use the washing machine and dryer in the utility room that is shared with the craft shop and gallery on the ground floor. There is a private garden across the road which reaches down to the shore, as well as a parking area. The Stein Inn is next door, serving a menu of food and wide selection of drinks.
