Taigh Mairi

Taigh Mairi is a self-catering holiday cottage for 4 guests overlooking the Sound of Raasay on the Isle of Skye. A former crofting area just 6 miles south of Portree, the house offers scenic views and an excellent viewpoint for bird and seal-spotting. Meaning ‘Mary’s House’ in Gaelic, this cottage is both family and dog-friendly.

The interior is furnished to a high standard, with many of the old features still remaining. The sitting room has an open fire, sofas, TV, handcrafted chess set and a collection of antique books. The kitchen / dining area, built by local craftsmen from rare spalted sycamore, provides a spacious area with many modern amenities.

Additionally, there is a double bedroom, a twin room and a bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. There is also an enclosed garden with a swing and car parking. The cottage looks over the sea and is near to a quiet sandy beach and has incredible wildlife all around. Portree has shops, restaurants, swimming pool, a pier and harbour.
